Thanks for all the advice Susan & Gordie!

We had a great time with Susan and Gordie! They are just fantastic. They've BTDT and are anticipating having a blast in China watching us first-timers stumble, fumble, freak & panic! In the meantime check out their new adorable Jiangxi southern belle Yun Xia (meimei in links above). Every step along this adventure, like meeting Susan and Gordie, makes it feel more "real" every day. For those who love reading, check out rubberduckies link--Chloe's mom has some recent amazing posts on fostering reading skills! Just wondering Chloe's mom are you in education?

Mary and Eric,

It was fabulous to finally meet you both and I am sure that we will have a grand old time in China together! Don't worry... eventhough we are BTDT, we will stumble, fumble, freak & panic... guaranteed!

Good morning! You guessed it--I've been a teacher for 17 years, and education USED to be my favorite topic of conversation. Of course, that was B.C. (Before Chloe). My husband Tom is a reluctant reader with Chloe--he doesn't know what to do when she won't let him read a page, or won't let him turn the page. So that's mainly why I posted all about reading. I figure that if he didn't know what to do, maybe there are other folks who have the same trouble. Thanks for the compliments--I love reading your blog and I can't wait until you get to go get Miss Penelope!!!
